I have an E39 M5 I'm thinking of turning it into a Drift car, does anyone know if they are any good for Drifting and if they have enough power to compete in competition, or would I be better looking for something else??

E39 is basically a tank

Whip the engine & drop it into a 3 series chassis.. You can pick up a 318ci for chips

Thanks lads, maybe go for an s body of some sort. M5 now for sale!!

If the m5 is manual just go learn to drift in that get some coilovers and a bucket seat and harness and work away then down the line swap in the engine gearbox into an e36 and you've a good capable drift car or sell it and get something drift ready

Its very possible.... Good few people in the uk drifting e39 540i's and one drifting a manual converted e38 740i! Few good threads for motivation on drift works.
