so here is where im at now.

    handbrake fitted.

must say huge thanks to Don Giles who got me sorted for the power steering ECU on friday morning
he has it all pre made now so its a plug and play job. just give it power.

vince made up a new A-Frame kit and we mounted it to the car. it worked out perfect but i need to add a rear anti roll bar to stop the nose picking up.

    interior for now

finished engine and all pipe work

then over to the local garage to dig out some tyres

loaded up for watergrasshill on saturday.

so got to watergrasshill and had a few teething problems but got out and tested as best i could.

i had a wrapped disc at the front so the brake judder was pretty bad.
i had 1 coilpack give up so she ran on only 3 cylinders.
then i had the hydraulic handbrake which would not work so need to bleed it out proper.
then a pipe off the cooling system came off so i called it a night.

but the main thing is i now know what i need to do before retrostock

    some pics out on track

    thanks lads

this is up to date now.

well Retrostock has come and gone and what an awesome day it was.

i was flat out for the week before retrostock getting it ready and painted so never did an update.
so i'll fill ye in on where it's at now

so first up was a change of axle as i wanted to run a rear anti roll bar and my previous axle had no mount points for them.
so axle out new axle built with strength added to the spring hangers, a-frame brackets made, caliper brackets welded on.

next up was the most important job that was making a proper bulkhead and tunnel.
so vince welded in a complete new bit .

then it was time to make an exhaust. so bought a lenght of 63mm pipe

then vince made a sweet oil catch tank.

and finally got out in mondello here are a few pics of it on track.

at mondello i had a fair few problems.

to start with i went out for the grip laps to make sure everything was ok but was only get 0.2bar boost pressure but after 4 laps i had that sorted and was set at 1bar.
this was class as the power was great and i was fairly excited at this stage.

so out for the first drift laps and after half a lap the thing was back running on 3 cylinders
so changed coils, plugs, injectors and none fixed it.
got a multimeter from dermot kyne and had 12v at all the coils so was completely stumped as to what was wrong.

so i decided it had enough power with 3 cylinders to get back out drifting.
so had a few laps with some nice drifts and then down the straight the radiator burst so thats when i called it a day.
there is a video of it bursting on my facebook page if ye want to see it.

so i have a few changes i want to make before i get out next but the first thing is to get this engine running correctly

cool build, serious amount of work gone into it. what sort of engine was the one you were going to use initially?

    cheers lads.
the engine i was originally using was a 1600 ford x-flow. about 120bhp

hopefully once i get some issues sorted i'll be able to give it plenty of abuse.

could someone tell me is a screamer pipe of any advantage as i like the sound of it but no idea is it worth doing??
