    Default NCT + harnesses

Well lads im wondering is there any issues with doing the NCT and having driver and passenger harnesses with seatbelts removed? My nct is coming up and i have a full bolt-in cage there to go in yet just still looking at getting harnesses. What are the regs on harnesses does anybody know? 2" or 3"?? Im guessing its a bit of a grey area here, but in the UK its looks like any flimsey bit of string is good enough.

    cheers

plenty of cars come from the factory with harnesses, most of them are e-marked , id have a 4point harness over a standard seat belt any day

I'd prefer a 3" 4 point or better to a seatbelt myself, barrysmotorsport do a great price on the trs ones

There's no clear rules on harnesses being road legal even though rally cars etc are supposed to be road legal. None that set as far as i can find yet anyways.

It took 3 attempts for the test centre to get someone not overweight to fit in my bucket seat last time

Anyone else put a car through with a harness and seatbelts removed?

I was told by a fella working in a nct centre that harnesses are fine in the car as long as the original seatbelts are still there. This was a while back now though and I'm sure like most places its differnet rules on different days for different people.

Will the cage fit with the seatbelts in place?

    i like stuff

From talking to a friend who is a tester, he said he ll pass a safe harness any day of the week but, but if the tester feels the mounting of the harness is unsafe or the bolts that are holding them in aren't up to job they ll fail the car.
