It's going alright, still getting very hot, fuse went in the electric fan so didn't get to see if it will help or not, creeps up into the red when the car is parked and idling after getting a few hard runs, but drive it handy for a bit and it starts cooling then

did she bleed up ok for ya lad?
also drill a couple of 3mm holes on the inside if the thermostat to help the flow.

just after spending an hour at getting it bled properly this time hopefully, jacked her a way up on the passenger side so the fill and bleeder was at the highest point and a good bit of air came out of it so hopefully that's what the problem is.
I'll look into drilling too, tks, hadn,t heard of that

I've a spare water washer container and pump so was gonna install them and have a light spray of water going against the rad, would that be any addition?

only way to bleed them is to jack the front up as far as you can.
the holes in the stat should solve your issues

95% sure fucking head gasket is gone, went out this evening, ran the car for bout twenty minutes to half hour at 2000 revs, whole system got pressurised, heat shot up to 3/4 mark, turned car off and you could hear the pressure hissing out of the rad and it was bulging! Also white smoke from exhaust...SHIT!

anyone any recommendations on a replacement engine?
    Best place to look?
Would it be much of a job to fit an m3 engine if I got my hands on one?
would I need the m3 gear box aswell or would the 328 one fit?

    Default Update time

    Finally I got an engine

Not only did I get an engine, I also picked up M50 manifold, BBTD, e30 flywheel, clutch and starter

When i was waiting to get an engine I done a bit more stripping.

More wiring gone, prick of a job

Boot floor and doors cut out, all glass gone also, should have polycarbonate in soon.

Front stripped to put in new engine

So gonna get the m20 flywheel lightened and get this back up and running with a new aluminium rad and fan. Can't wait
