What's behind this? I heard a while back that it was looking likely but never told any reason. That Kiltorcan place or somewhere really needs to get into this niche now

Theres a reason why kiltorcan stoped letting drift practise in:(, cant remember exactly why but Frenchy knows the story so il let him say why! :(
What's behind this?
He is a Tosser.........he said if theres no D-rift, theres no Practice!!! Ass Muffins!!

fuck sake. i has hoping to go up there in the next few months when iv my yolk goin. theres no where else in cork now is there?
what a load of cock great track for learning!!!
That's a fair blow for drifting :(
When I rang 2weeks ago, they said they were working on the dates.
Is there any chance he'd hire out the track if 25 lads got together.
Personally I cant see the connection between d-rift + practice days.
Alot of lads that went to the practice days never competed in d-rift.
I may have a lil something up my sleeve...................

Kiltorcan get too much hassle off the neighbours over people rallying up and down the roads to the place when there's an event on.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j--5QJFX0c0
didn't they get around 80-100 car average each month?
the reason they couldn't run more drift days a month is because of the noise levels. to be fair drifting is a noisy fucker. if neighbors complain( like what happened in rossgreen and now with mondello) you are pretty much fucked

If enough people rang, enquiring when their practice days were starting .Would he possibly change his mind !
Their number is 021 4889477
I think every option needs to be explored before excepting ,it's closed for practice.

Worth ringing as ye say looking for the next date.
He mite change his mind. Money talks after all
Lads, in fairness. All this 'what a dickhead' 'fucking idiot' 'bullshit' etc. Do you honestly think hes stopped taking in good amounts of money for the craic? id be 99% sure theres a real reason for it, posibly complaints, pie balls coming to watch, reputation or whatever...but i seriously doubt hes stopped the practice just because hes a 'dickhead'.
Yea well said to be fair.
Both right, he is a dickhead ( Ive seen it first hand many times)
BUT he did say his neighbours started giving him a small bit of stick over noise
so thats a valid reason

why do so many pie balls follow cars in ireland must be the only country this happens in well the uk has it aswel but they usually stick to the chav spec saxos etc in the us/australia ya never see scummers in drift vids or at terack days

Have u met the man?? Theres no genuine reason, he doesnt like drifting thats all!
its prob down to complants,, he prob tnks its better to make a steady income with karts than a quick buck with drifting and get shut down,, best put by mondello the last day when lads complaned about wetting corner, its eather a wet track or no track:(
Maybe im completely wrong but the lad that owns the place was always sound out when i was there anytime... Its the wankers he has workin for him always had the attitude, specially that lad that looked like an indian.. Proper PRICK

Havnt met him no. But sure what the reason he doesnt like drifting, lads dirt dropping and ripping up his grass, spectators tearing up and down the local roads going to practice days, people drinking (ive seen this at practice days:rolleyes:!), insurance, noise complaints...could be any of those reasons why he doesnt like drifting. As was said earlier in the thread he doesnt mind the escort lads going to it, which would indicate its something to do with the crowd drifting brings in. I know the other day in goldstone even, i overheard somebody going 'go and lock your car, check out the lads that just arrived' and even lads started hiding away tools and shit, thats not the kind of thing ya want when youre running a business thats been previously succesful in previous years!

Era its all Dogwank anyway, give it 2 years and we wont have anywhere to drift or wank..........and we will all turn the roads into our tracks and all get the leccy chair n no one will be alive and who fucking cares!
Its as simple as this, the "heros" ruin it for everyone... Dickheads spinning wheels in the pits, tryin to do rings in the pits etc... WHY like, what are you trying to prove??????? Seen this also at the drift practice i was at in mondello before xmas, lads throwing the car around in the pits and speeding around the place.. Cop the fuck on or we'll be fucked outta there as well
Can you get 3 inch wavin pipe? Youd surely take someones head off with that! Still.. im sure that would deter the cream crackers sure enough. Good idea!! I wonder who'd like to get that bouncers job?!

noticed that myself at 1 of the mondello drift practise, lads spinnin wheels in the pits & doing rings... They shouldnt be allowed back if there caught at it cause there just going to ruin it for everyone and then there wont be any practise at all :(
despite the safety of the spectators aswell walking around & theres some clown spinning wheels in the pit & rings, very easyly hit someone!

Worst part is ive done a burnout(To bed in tires) next to Dave and he said nout, only thing hes ever given out about is his precious grass and oil spills which i agree on!! All i was told was and a Quote "If theres no D-rift this year why does there need to be Practice". If thats not assholeness i dunno wat is!
Your so gay.
Proper bent :)
in mondello id have no prob with lads spinning the wheels in the ACTUAL pit lane to heat up the tyres but not in the paddock area,
some one said have security at the gate, thats just an other over head he wouldn't have to think about on any other day!
chuck your getting all hormonal again. and who hates welders? i know if will hadn't fitted a two way to my car before i bought it id be running a welder for sure
All i was told was and a Quote "If theres no D-rift this year why does there need to be Practice". If thats not assholeness i dunno wat is!
But here, how much does he charge in for spectators at d-rift? he makes a raping surely, especialy with d-rift moneys, merchants etc. But if theres none of them, sure the little amount of money he gets for the practice days probably isnt worth it if hes payin the pricier insurance etc. Its all level headed stuff imo

Sorry, fucking women have me fried! So fucking angry i wanna break the screen but then i have no Porn! I shall vent elsewhere! Oh n im starting to hate weld as my car is making gay fukin noises! FUCK!

Any chance of getting the DI people to have a chat with this man about some DI days there...
This is after fucking me big time, after learning that my car wont be ready in time for the pd logging day, i hear that theres no d-rift or wgh practice days. I may as well have spent all my money on a john deere, at least i could have brought that ploughing or something!

i woulnt even try it!! im sure pd tryed for a long time to get a venue in dublin, so lets face it a bunch of lads showing up in weled up trampers is not going to help holding on to tracks/ locations for drifting in this country
from where i see it it is not the track owners who are to blame it is the drivers drifting is going down hill fast!! no one has any pride anymore i would say there is more shite box welded up "trampers" than proper drift cars look at it from there view a lad shows up on your door to practice in a car he has spent alot of time effort and money on he is trying to learn new skills and cares about his car or a lad shows up with an omega with a welded diff to go out and hit off stuff around your track who would you let out??????
before this goes the wrong way i no we are in a ression and cant afford to build a propper car but have some pride in what you do have
if some one has the money to cover insurance for €500,000 public liability then i have a great place for us.
the army have told me we can used the space if we have the right insurance.

I agree 100% with what you said gem! Thats the problem now is people getting shit boxes, welding the diff and away ya go, its fine if you dont go out and act the tool & have some respect about the car you drive/drift, but there is some people just going out and wrecking there 'tramp drifter' and its looking bad for the drifting community and getting the lads with the proper full spec cars a bad rep, which is also going to lead to track owners not letting the use of there tracks for drift practise!
Like there is different between a cheep drift car with somebody trying to learn some skills & a cheep drift car which is basicly getting death till it blows up, having no respect for the car or other drivers on track!
*Not having a go at anyone or directing it at anybody, but just having my say!

alot of the problem is the noise, its the same story everywhere... mondello, tullow, wgh, etc etc... they`ve shut the local hot rod club down for noise pollution a few weeks back:eek:, ell the other places may close and mondello might stop the practice days, there`ll always be stones witch is a savage little track not as big as mondello but all about the drifters and the respect should be paid back. theres never a day john won`t go out of his way to sort you out if you break the car he`ll store it SAFELY until you can come get it.
TULLOW, same applys, big flat concrete yard. again maybe not a patch on other places but the commitment to regular joe soap no matter what he`s driving, and a bunch of drift nuts only to happy to get a lad skidding.....
i think in these times of tight budgets and ever de-creaseing options its these kinda places that should get the support

Guys you fail to consider that WGH may only have planning for karting. If this is the case one complaint could have the place closed down for good it it get to the legal stage.
Maybe Dave dose not want to loose his investment in the place.
Calling him names is really just goes to show that you have no respect for the place or of his decision.

Right lads, sent kartworld an email this morning asking did they have any idea when the drift practice days would be starting up again and this is the reply i got:
''Hi Tom, The dates will be going up on our website soon, they have not yet been confirmed, so just keep a look out.''
ROFL if this was all a mistake becuase they dont like the smoke chuckys tyres make :D
i really hope this is hear say but sure if not at least we got the point across that scummers drinkin cans and littering the place boloxin on the roads to and from the venue are NOT WANTED !!!!

Thats exactly what happened with rosegreen, no planning for drifting only karting & then when people complained they hadn't a leg to stand on, thats the main reason it got closed down!
Two sides to every story and all that, so lets quit the name calling and see what transpires over the next couple of months.

@markos: Its not 100% certin at the moment, we'll just have to wait and see do they put the dates on their website over the next couple of weeks www.kartworld.ie.
I rang them this evening.
Receptionist said dave is undecided about running the practice days.
They have got a good few calls about them,I was told to keep a eye on their website.
I think if lads continue to ring + e-mail them ,he might run a practice day.

What's behind this? I heard a while back that it was looking likely but never told any reason. That Kiltorcan place or somewhere really needs to get into this niche now
tony in kiltorcan wont run these days cuz when D-rift was there for a round after kiltorcan was re-done! a bunch of Dickheads pulled down some of the brand new fencing! and he said he wont be holding a drifting comp ever again!
wudnt blame him eithier! and also that alot of rubber on the track may piss off the irish and british kart racers!:)
Fredericks Balls

Ok well to ad my 2 cents to this. First off ive never been at any WGH drift days.
I do know Walshie since 1992 though, infact I bought my first kart off him etc etc.
Firstly, as Peter pointed out, if hes making big money from drift days he's hardly going to just stop cos he doesnt like drifters or whatever. At the end of the day money is money. Its a business for him.
It could be that he hasnt got insurance to cover this and to get it now would be too expensive, or that the track doesnt actually permit this.
Noise is an issue there, always has been, even for karts. Its in a valley and you can see the houses around. Whatever about karts and racing cars but with drifting you get a different type of noise (i.e. tyre noises etc) and maybe this is irritating locals more so than just the noise level. Who knows. Either way if its become a legal matter he's not obliged to tell every one the ins and out of it which is why nobody knows for sure.
And just to clarify, im not a fan of Dave. He treated the karters like crap in the past, and again was all about money and power then, so Im not on his side, but i can safely say he wouldnt stop for the sake of it.
Best to wait and hear the full TRUE story eh...

Lads theres a few things , i know dave with years used to work for him, and live 5 minutes from the track.I spoke to him about this over christmas and wouldnt blame him if he stopped the drifting
- There was poor numbers turning up to days, only just over 10 before christmas
-Noise is a major issue, why put a venue under risk for a €800 , over just abit of drifting, i wouldnt bother with the hassle
-Burnouts in the pits(There is kart dummy grid there painted int he Tarmac)They need that for kartign events.Burnouts in general just warm up the tyres on the first lap, ive seen people tke tarmac up on karttracks just doing burnouts!!!
-Dirtdrops, in the grass, we all think its cool, but just stay off it
-General drifting on the way back out of the venue, people speeding, all the local neighbours go mental over it trust me!!!
Ive seen it happen in the UK a people expect practice days every week ,venue gets overused, no one turns up, practice days get diluted, track owner either gets pissed off with the hassle, or the council close them down for noise another venue lost
My advice, starting getting a list here, set up a driftireland paypal service, get a mod to run it
-Prebook on here
-Need to fill 30 bookings at least minimum
-Book dates before an event of PD Week before
-DONT have dates every month but maybe every 4-6 weeks
All money paid upfront before each practice day €3000 + whatever 10 dates a year - €30k , he aint gonna turn that away
Im lucky im in the UK and have 25 + venues to access but ye dont really have an option anymore with so many tracks been closed in ireland and mondello/bishopscourt being the other only major track available for hire /events
if ye dont sort your act out soon, there will be no where to drift, and its kind of down to this forum

We've been onto them before Bart, but I'll send another something through later on.
Maybe if you got the number of cars required as definites first and get a depost off each driver. Then email WGH asking for a day and tell them you have so many comfirmed cars with non refundable deposits paid.
Have a rule like up the north where all cars have to have full bodywork and are tidy enough so as to show your man we're serious and not just a gang of lads in €400 trampers wanting to wreck the place.

I know that, and youi know that. It's your man i'm worried about.
Your car has all the bumpers on it, ya? I'm talking about Pete's yoke. :p
Spot on, we either need DI to take care of this or start a Drift Union/Club.

well to be honest there is a select few that wreck it for everyone but it's hard to screen out them people and rosegreen whent arseways because of this wouldn't blame to man for not wanting the trouble prob make handy money out of karting and paint balling with far less trouble. i know it sucks that all the good tracks are gone but thats the way it is in Ireland motor sport is looked down on.
