Refreshingly simple ae86 project

This is a car i imported nearly 2 years ago and its gettin new kit and wheels at the mo


We are using DMax quarters and DMax based front wings but with the double vent blanked off

Front and rear bumpers are by suzukijidosya, i have never seen these on a 86 before.......

We used the Meister to confirm the offset of the satin black 15x9 Compomotive ML's that will be used on this one

Car will be done white with three quarter satin black bumpers

Should be in primer or close too this time tomorrow nite

Nope dude pure standard at the mo mite do a bit when its done but at the mo spendin all the cash on the body... Has all suspension done and 2 way diff and quick shift gear box and what not...

Aw you made an excellent decision on blanking the big vents i hate those vents!

Quick update guys.... Im jst after shootin the toyota super white base coat.... Tis nippy out so shel take a bit of drying but shuld be shooting clear in the next hour or so.... Il hopefully have a few pics up 2mrw!!

15 x 9 -15 compomotive mls in satin black... Would love to go Work equip no3s but their supid money and the compos are serious value and i dig em... Think theyl look mean!

Well after a lot of mind changes shes pretty much done... Small bits left but got her out for a spin 2day... 1 nice piece to add to the body, Space the back wheels a tad and more LOOOOOOOWWWW!!!

2b honest i love how the 32 turned out but im just into the satin thing as shown by the satin black bumpers and wheels but obviously being me own car LOVE the Levin... Ya there a good snug fit...

Lookin fab dan! cmptvs are sweet! i hate the way jblood bumpers for the levin are so skinny (as seen in my sig) the car looks so tidy and road ready!

Run Free style skirts are very savere to the jblood bumper

Just from looking at the pics alone and pictureing it in my head and just to see what it turns out like id take the skirts off throw a late either early-(preffered to this car) or late bumper on with an early model lip

i think it would do the beefy overs and beefy wheels justice as them skirts are taking it away from the over and the 15s + youl get away with the car sitting at its current height..

Not nocking the car in any way shape or form it has my FULL thumbs up credit to you,just shareing thoughts :)

I've been trying to get a car to put satin black comp mls on for the best part of 6 months now lol as I think they're mint, and affordable. 86s, mx5s etc but sadly my hope of building my perfect 86 isnt going to happen for a while now, and decided not to do the mx5 thing and bought something else that I wont be changing the wheels on I'd say.

But anyway the levin looks very well, although I would agree with Tekno above and think the car needs a few minor little changes here and there to be proper epic. But the overall concept is well on the right track imo

Looks the bizz!!! After buying an all white 86 japper and will more than likely be going with the compos on standard bodywork with no skirts... Cant wait to get goin at it now!!!

Thanks dude here flickin through picks of skirts tryin to visualise em Haha Fcuk yes :p But she'l be stayin as is til the diffuser is on its lowered and spaced at the back... Will make a call on it then... Tanx for all the advice so far lads...

fater bumper was always the 1st option to make it more matched looking but on the road a run free bumper would simply explode off things as there not designed like URAS and GOODLINE which are sloped at the bottom gaining more ground clearance to help with road use.

Though id be all for a run free bumper on this thing! it would look mega!

Not sure if there run free or goodline... 2 lazy to check to be honest... Im gone blank....

Never really thought about the diffuser that way but makes sense... Aldoe when i measured it up it didnt seem too low... Im thinkin very simialar the front ride height wise...

Set of four: €860

Standard colours are white and silver

Colour options are Black, Gunmetal and Gold priced: €10 per rim

Diamond Cut rim is available at €20 per rim and you can have any colour centres free

13x8 is also available in offset -24 to +12

15x9 like mine are available in a -24>0

Mmm nope blew the front bumper off into loadsa little pieces a few weeks ago but got her all painted up again.... Other then that iv been in Vegas so aint done much.... Gonna tidy her up 2mrw for Mondello...

If you're goin with the diffuser idea, or even as is, the front bumper will need to change imo. As has been said before numerous times the skirts are just too low. Front bumper should always be the lowest point. If you put a diffuser on as is then it will look worse I'd say as it will only be the front bumper thats high. IIRC you said you have another front bumper of some sort lying about? Try that on maybe? Its a very very nice 86 as is Dan.....but it could be extra special imo with just a few more touches.

Ok a bot of an update on this... Got stuck into it tonite to have her going rite for Sunday and it looks like we'l be on...

For the 1st time in the 2 and a half years iv had her i got in underneath it and found a few nice little suprises...

No 1... Shes absolutely mint underneath
No 2... She has a Cusco Rose jointed and Polybushed 4 link
No 3... She has a TRD diff

As my old diff was whinning badly i decided to pull it out thinkin it was a 4:7 but turns out it was a 4:3 which was quite a suprise considering how Nippy she is, On the plus side says alot about the engine in her so well happy with that...
So anyway we'd a solid pinion spaced 3:9 lying about so got that set up 2nite to fire it into the axle in the morning... Also putting a new Whiteline Panhard rod...
Stance could also be a little better in the back so im putting in longer studs while the shafts are out to allow for a nice spacer...

Also fresh rubber and front fog light set up... As well as a good clean 2mrw followed by a few pints and we should be minto for Sunday... Well happy with me nite :)

absolutly love it man, what ya doing with the skirts? bonnet goin satin black?
