As above lads, Ive seen a set of 19 inch volks that I would really love for the jzx. Problem is theyre a lot bigger than what the arches can handle.
Rears are 19 x 11 et - 11 ( out 50mm further than current wheels)
Fronts are 19 x 9.5 et - 5 ( out 39mm further than current wheels)
The rears will have to be a custom arch made to suit I'm thinkin and maybe I can get wider fronts in fiberglass.
Who would you lads recommend to do the custom arches and fill paint etc? And could anyone give me a rough idea of the cost?

All advice welcome lads
Unless you can extend the whole rear quarter I don't think itll look great, as the arch would just stick out too much. There was an s14 on donedeal a week ago that had serious arch work to fit wide wheels, but Imo it looked crap.
If the lip splits off them I'd say get new lips, but it looks like its just the centre that can be split.

Serious arch work needed. Better off with over fenders to keep the lines of the car flowing!

Overfenders are very rare for jzx's. I think they can be got for the 100's but I've never seen any for a 90. I know I seen someone on here that had a build thread and he had his cousin I think it was doin major arch work for him but I can't find it.
I agree that the 14 doesn't look great but i think it can be done better than that.
I roll alot of arches but never tried for 50mm, did 30mm on an RX7 before. Ali did a mad roll on his S15 also, might be closer, not sure...

I dunno would that much if a roll look right either would it? Youd see a lot of the x body's in Japan with that arch work that looks more square than the 14 above. They obviously weld on some sheet metal to create such a shape.

I dont think that much flair wood look nice at all and if you go doin arch work like that would you crack the filler constantly?

I was thinkin that I'd wanted most of it to be metal, just filler to smooth it off. Ive been lookin at it a bit lately and I think it just needs a more agressive stance, that and the 18s look too small on it
Pouring no more money into it, I think it's done.
Whats that lad? :p

That's the one Phil, I just think the lines don't flow around the arches as you said it would be better off with overfenders. other than that it's a nice car, with serious wheels.
Did you buy it Phil ?

Yea that's what I'd be after, thanks for that lad. Anyone recommend someone that could do a job like that??

Yup I bought it. It's a bit different and I usually wouldn't be a fan of arches like it
Well wear, remember looking at the build thread for it a few years ago and seeing its progress every so often. Has had a nice bit of work done to it.
Throw up a few pics if you get a chance, would like to see a few recent pics with the full set of meisters.
Will do, it'll probably be the weekend before I get a chance to take some
As brenden said there i pulled my arches on the s15 got close to 40mm in the end took my time used lots of heat and i would honestly get away without filler or a respray, but i wouldnt recommend just puling the arch, its so pulled there is no room for the wheel to travel up so it looks a bit shit or your ruinning your tyres off your bodywork where everyou go, people told me this but i was too stubborn to listen and thought i knew better, you would benifit greatly if you Cut the inner from the outer arch and weld a plate in afterwards, it will allow you to start your roll higher up and it will look better (think it was actually kruizer who told me that LOL ), also if you need that much bend your lip out not fold back in as it gives you more metal to work with,
Look up the new chaser phil morrision bought, it shows cutting and flaring the rear arches in his build thread, its the best possibly only way, thats probably Whats was done to that chaser above also.

And Im telling Ya lad you can do alot of it yourself, you would want to be a bit thick to screw it up just keep a eye that the quater dont kink and thats it, E200 you can buy a roller and heat gun, you can Cut the arches apart shape them till it looks good pay somone a few quid to weld it back , then just look for a finisher and spray,
I could have paid someone to do mine but i wasnt sure it would look right so did it myself to See how it looked and i did a decent job, bud Im going for overfenders now anyway so id be sick if i pays somone haha,

Thats what i got from mine and i was too scared to fold back the lip a few months ago but it looks shit with all the camber so it was all in vein.

Thanks for that Ali. I would go at it myself but I'm away with work all the time so id rather just let someone at it that's done it before. I'd start it and get so far and then it'd be left for a few weeks.
What do all you's lads reckon, do ye think it's help the look of the car or should I just leave it?
Id say go for it, its a bit of work but would be worth it in the end.
dont know if your going ahead with this or not but i seen these and i thought if i ever needed to extend the arches on a 4 door its what id do, not to everyones taste but looks bad ass,
