View Full Version : Pic request! Arches!
Story horses, ive searched like feck and turned up nothing really. Im looking to find some pics of cars that have been heavily arch rolled or metal flares welded on/smoothed in. I know there is the likes of JUN fiberglass arches that people put on and blend in but id be afraid of them cracking all the time as its a road car. Has anyone got any pics or links to cars with this done to give me some photos i can give to who ever is going to do the job?
Like this as an example. a 4 door car as an example is a bonus point, however im not sure if these are fiberglass flares moulded in or what!

u could flare is this much with good heat but filler work would be neeeded i think .. i flared mine massive but my car is more of a missile
There's no way theres enough metal in a Cefiro to pull them out that much!? Any pics of yours
The chap who did the arches on my car is pretty handy dude!

If you were to go that extreme with the flaring would they be really hard to keep? Would the paint last any length before it'd start cracking?

theyre not rolled, the arch is cut to fuck to allow space for the wheels and an arch is made of sheet metal and welded on. so ill be able to cut the front bit of my bumper off too and mount it to the metal arch extension because the tyre rubs the bumper at the mo which is a pain in the sack!

Ah I see, it looks the part yea but if you run a tight fitment with your arch/ tyre if you hit any kind of a bump will it make shit of your arch and bumper then cos they're connected? It's a joy to look at but will ya be able to drive the car like it's meant to be driven and not be worryin about ruining all the hard work gone into gettin that look? I'm not runnin your idea down I'm just interested in how it'll work out, if it's any way practical I'd have mine done too!

yes! well, almost.
yeh niall i get ya, well work it in some way so as I can still drive it, really could not be bothered driving another yoke where ya cant have people in the back or skid in the dry because itl rub! a good bit of stretch and maybe the arch 5mm narrower and it shouldnt rub! even it iit does..being metal, should be grand!
