View Full Version : what bhp should my 180 be able to achive safely?
ok i wanna get a bit more power outta my car when i bought it was told its only running about 80% of wat its cappable of was rolling roaded by tdp before i bought it made 290bhp at the wheels an 340 torque think 0.9, i wanna jus know what it would be capable of and to still be reliable without shitting itself
prob mist few bits but off my head its got

HI LIFT CAMS
SARD 555cc INJECTORS
Z32 AFM
METAL HEAD GASKET
SARD 265 FUEL PUMP
TOMEI TURBO ELBOW
HKS MANIFOLD
FULL EXHAUST SYSTEM WITH DECAT
FRONT MOUNT INTERCOOLER
APEXI POWER FC
id say it would be more than 320 on 1.1 prob 330 - 340 id say!
since youve a MHG get a remap and you should be able to run upto 1.4bar.
Not sure how the much boost would work on the turbo though
ye i have greddy boost controller hit it to high and runs 1.4 but i rarely do that afraid id blow it up running at that ha, ye was thinkin maybe round 340 - 350 or is that a bit ambitious:rolleyes:

if thats the case whats the safest a standard sr20 would power to? decat exhaust system, fmic?

ive seen a couple of s14's with that kind of set up make about 240bhp ish
@ k1984w - definatly dont run it at that sort of boost without a map, youll blown shit up good n proper. Id say the only thing holding you back from making 340bhpish might be the turbo.
Is that tubby the garrett version of an s15 jobbie or simular?

guessin you mean 340 there on the s14s, ye the turbo is rated for 400 i think could be 350 though there s 2 different models i think check tm( correct me if im wrong), ye iv probably only ran it to 1.3 1.4 , 2 or 3 times since had it
nope mean 240. saw 3 different s14s on the same day, same rollers. fmic and airfilter and exhaust made between 240-255 on em all
id say somewhere near 350 at about 1.1??
that first guesstimate of 320 at around a bar seems about right !!
u deffo get a good 340 out of it with a good map any more you wil need bigger injectors
have close to the same set up 2540 turbo and 256 cams and im running 329 on .9 everyday was dyno'd at wcp in tralee

.9 is plenty high mate
think time to bring it up for a re-map so any recommendations where to go not to far from dublin was thinkin maybe tdp or martin tracy?

Id recommend tdp from experience.
On my rb20 with similar spec to yours, robbie got 330 whp at 1.3 bar boost
