Yo, i have 550cc injectors on a r32 rail here, can they go on without being mapped?? will they still flow the correct fuel?

Cheers!

no. well it didnt on mine due to over fueling. grand ticking over. when went above 4000 rpm started to splutter.

not without a map,but maybe with a reg ya might be able to improve it

no dude wont work. The ecu will keep sending the signal to feed what it thinks are your current injectors so giving you whatever % too much fuel.

Lowering the fuel pressure mightnt be the best idea either, the injectors need a certain amout of fuel pressure to work properly.

edit: if youve got a power fc or something easy to hook a laptop upto you can change the settings easily enough. but still you should get a map to keep it running right and safe

If you have a power pc and commander then a couple of quick sums will get it running for now, work out a rough precentage for how much bigger the new injectors are then standard and then reduce the duty cycle by approx the same amount and you should be able to run reasonably well. still wouldn't go near a track without a map though.

even fuel pump???

even fuel pump???

nope, as the ecu will only inject what it knows to inject, doing the fuel pump on mine made a WORLD of differance!

as said above, a fuel pump can only flow as much as the pressure regulator will allow whereas injectors work to a % of duty cycle, so 60% of 550 is alot more then 60% of 380.

whats th point in chaning the fuel pump if ur no doing the injectors or fuel regulater.the standard pump is still doing the same job

true but its been doing that job for 14 years in my cars case, i put a walbro in mine and it made a good bit of difference but id say even replacing it with a new standard one would help

wrong. my pump was shagged, felt like i was only giving it half throttle once it was on full boost and revving, and wouldnt go anywhere near the red.

new fuel pump in it and it felt like a new fecking car.

But yeh, this threads old! and im sorted now1:D
