well drift irl
thought id throw up what has been done in last year or so.the R32 is fairly bog on outside rolling on gold TE-37s(sweet).theres emotional history with this car, we(Brian&myself) set sail to the famous comer(Goldstone) with the trust worthy Meegan motorsport to see wat all the hype was bout ha but by jaysus did we get sucked in& friend by friend to follow which formed into team solid:) I had a nice white 32 needless to say done few slowish laps after practically removin all da Trial bodykit,at end of the day none of us want wreck our gud road car.
the BUG was in the air,we start dropping hints to each other on way home.within 3-4wks we set sail to buy the wine B&G drift machine(bog standard).3k saw us through wit a clutch needed.

ya dnt really hear of drift car bein bought wit a friend but we wer more lik bros than friends,bought our first moto x bike together too.our motto was drive da tits outa it so it was a wrecker more dan anytin.
sadly Brian passed away unexpectedly in dec07.so dats how the wrk put in2 dis car got outa hand.if it wasnt for who i bought car with id be retired be4 i started. B&G(Butler & Greally)his & my surname, we came up with dat messin1 day. we(team solid) transplanted all the running gear from white32 (360bhp)things wer goin ok,managed top8 in UDC at1 event taking in2 consideration team solid dnt get out dat often.
Stones at Goldstone came up wit great idea of holding comp in memorial for Brian,managed pull a 3rd place finish in 08 but it all went pete tong in 09.practicing on the sat before the comp,but little did i know der was a bang on the way & dat was it more heartship,it was only bad thgts in my head but i cudnt let da big man(brian) down. spent alot time&money trying get it rite again.out of that came dis result,it got bit outa hand but thank god we got results.......

nothin to major at the min stevo, wel theres always bits of tightening up so hope it's bang on nxt day.....have get bit more fabs during wk,extra bracket mounts r2 on exhaust.and wen rb25 box was fitted,it sits further bak than 20box so hav mod da gearbox carrier bracket...minor issues

ha can u remember gud or bad.....both :) wel wen doin bit of udc in 09 it was running rb20 with stocks, rb25 fully overhauled now have to say there is sum difference in her wasnt expecting such an improvment hope ta do bit udc again, mite see it again with new set up

no man its rb25 engine and gearbox but i only got 4or5 outtings out of box down to shear bad drivin...but its 20 diff so prop had to be customisized as in 25 prop out of box, cut it, den 20 prop comin from diff cut it and join dem up but it has be bang on balanced da lot otherwise if it was cowboy job, she b clatterin underneath.......know were there any 25 boxes???????????????????

Things are lookin gud at the min for a change....at the min getting new engine mounts made from polyurethane for strenght and take flexibility away.. should be collecting another rb25 box 2moro!!! so with bit luck mechanically, it will be sound again nxt week...
collected rear quarters yesterday, thanks to Bart for them..and a roof spoiler is on the way too(will put pics up of full kit in due course) priorities first suspension after it is running sweet...gonna run s14 rear sub frame as this has more advantages as the R32....
so loads work with bit of luck in next couple weeks will bang up info and pics as I go

right lads got a bit of a late 1 in tonite and hopefully can stick at it for few evenings now!!!collected another RB25 box Sunday, reconditioned and reinforced bearings..But since I have box out I was told bout these engine mounts made from polyurethane is good job for reducin the engine rocking, so while the box is off I decided get this done too...Strip out few bits & lift engine AGAIN!!just enough to slid monuts in..Got these made up the other day

Think I'v found why exhaust was coming loose, cause engine was sittin on 1 mount basically & it was f..ked on the exhaust side so is there any wonder,glad found it!!

if ya's are wondering where is all the oil coming from in pics,, power steering pipes were cracked, frade and leaking from heat so got that sorted while had easy access to it whilst the turbo etc was out...the engine mounts seem to be a good solid job....no vibrations or that through the steering....delighted to be this far cause beginning to think wil the suspension be sorted....lately im been proved wrong gonna collect driftworks arms etc by end of week with a bit of luck & get cracking on that then....

got d-max stlye rear quaters few days ago & have roof spoiler on the way, just extra little bits to set the x-trial kit off along with gtr spoiler for boot..

will keep firing up the photos as I go...more updates comin soon :)

The body kit in photos above is called x-trial kit. Really like this kit, every1 has their own opinions but Iv been around 32s 6-7years & I have still not seen another1 with this kit nor in a magazine or anything! that is the beauty of it...
this will give an idea what it will look like but obviously not in white and it will have roof spoiler, rear quaters & few bits more.......

now i have to do more research but I think I am gonna get subframe plated up so that there will be no bushings wat so ever! suppose give more traction & make the structure more SOLID..hope the driftworks will follow very soon, will bang up photos of what I am puttin in, gettin rite few bits on suspension end of things. have it in my head to put in silvia front subframe & bang on hub knuckkles but I tink thats next years work. Ya have to know where to draw the line & it's seat time I want for now

thanks a mill paul, dead sound!!! was discussing different colour schemes with a dulux specialist, he was sayin if I use a fine bristle brush it will turn out serious!! :) :)
your car is mental, well done keep it up!! just working on suspension at the mo...need a bit of fab work to set up the sub frame the way i want it,bushingless dead solid..but the fab man is away on hols but shud get goin again soon..it s all about the power & set-up!!appearance can wait, but it will look sweet. cheers again lad

umm to be honest i wouldnt be gone it setting it up with no bushings id be afraid it would tear the shell apart thats just my opinion but shur its worth a go always nice too do things a bit different like

well im not the 1 for just bulling into to someting but was chatting to lad that has done similar to what I wanna do & in a way what im talking about is same as solid sub frame bushes, I was also chatting wez and he said they put solid bushes into a car & it was a totally different car for handling.....but il do the research 1st...opinions are not taken to heart thanks paul :).......keep the faith :)

small enough update nothing special. didnt get as far as expected 2or3 issues but i already knew about at least 1. got s14 diff casing so the skyline diff is fitting the subframe. anti-roll bar wont fit either but will modify this as there uprated and want to keep them along with pillow rose joint drop links.

right lads, I'm bumping this mainly cause I need help & info and would much appreciate all comments & help on the next step. in puttin the s14 sub onto 32 I was orginally going with off-centric polys as it is not centre aligned, but there is a change of plan. I'm gonna do what kev kindergan and DeaneMsport 180sx done with theirs, re-use the centre collars and get the sub right up as far as poss.any tips welcome???
a customized prop shaft, if I done what im talking about, would it effect the balancing of it??only a couple of mill so im thinking it should'nt or wont??
and last ques, I see Cooldrift wrote up on DeaneMsport thread bout fillin the cavities with expanding foam to stiffen up the frame, would this be a good move?? cheers&thanks lad for reading this

right after getting enough assistance of kev kin (1 of soundest chaps out der :) ) & looking at DeaneMsport s thread couple of times said we'l go for it!! so the subframe came on leaps & bounds this eve, because its off centric thats what took up most time, getting it spot on...massive thanks to daragh swan, a legend for the fab work :). we came up with this

this is the top of the frame,collars tacked into position :). everytin wil be flush (notice the way the collars are'nt centre)

Right lads and lassies, small update but this is more to help other people out, any of the nissan heads out there! Today I found out an advantage when it comes to the suspension end of things, some people might know this but its got to do with tension rods

Notice the off-set on these, well there GTR tension rods, this was a simple mistake in the order that has benifited me. As in the tension rods are further out of the way for when you start advancing lock! To make them fit, the collars jus have be skimmed down couple of mm on the ball joint end so they fit.
Was just bout post them back, until Kev rang me, cheers man :)

This is what I was on about the tension rods above, its the ball joint end you need to take a wee bit of the collars if you get the GTR tension rods with the off-set

Said I'd throw this up seen as it's not jus cars I work on plus this thread is mainly dedicated to butchy so basically,he & mick bought cbr 600 that needed wrk for the craic few yrs ago. the 2 lads stripped it right down,sand blasted and powder coated the frame and started from scratch again. They done serious wrk on it but sadly things changed. So Noel(Brians dad),Joe Fields and myself fin it of. It was near 3quaters mechanically done when we started.Just quick break down on story, heres the pics

Update on car, well shes 110% mechanically bang on, wel I dunno if you'd use that term, maybe cowboy would suit better haha but I hav'nt been this happy with that end of things since brought car home from being ran in & mapped end of 2010.

Suspension wise I'm at bout 95%, happy with that also (last piece of the jig-zaw) for the min :) driftworks poly bushes for hubs where toe arms connect to

Plan to seem weld the car in winter along with upgrading the cage so still in 2 minds bout this expanding foam, sure I might do the subframe anyways, time will tell

Update time, suspension is now 110% sorted too. Wasnt as lucky as others wen fittin subframe, it was jus slighty hittin the body but nothin the nissan hammer or sledge wouldnt sort :) think il get new anti-roll bar bushes & for drop links. no point cuttin corners at this stage
As was saying badly need brake pads so

New uprated PBR pads all round (was gonna go EBC redstuff but no matter what pads are there the hydro wont be shy bout lockin the wheels so there 100% !!)

Small update, right not 100% happy with suspension so gonna change drop links front,a-roll bar bushes all round and outter tie rods (poss teins). was tryin get polys for anti roll bar but not havin much luck. any1 can help me out with that??pulled out all old bits,some were in very bad condition!!

But collecting Tein tie rods this week,front& back drop links on way,there was tiny bit of play in1of the rear pillow rose links so their gone into bin!!and as far as im aware barrys motorsport can get me poly's for drop links all round the anti-roll bushes... handbrake has to be mounted too and plannin on 26th this month goin to Taffy&Gary's new track,hopefully down to Wez the wkend before hand.. So all go to make this happen

dunno wat the craic is with tie rods jus yet, had 2 sets of teins lined up but that fell through, new oem's ordered too as alot people say their just the same,but didnt come either. Something will be sorted in next few days in order have it ready for spin next sun.

Have'nt been doin alot lately, dislocated shoulder from fall of scrambler and no wrk anyway. got door & that for car, didnt fix the sill yet but the plan is to prob sort everytin when the bodykit is bein fitted which id like to for next Butchy drift day :) I find the car tends to get a little warm at times,2 warm so wanna fit a alloy rad and get oil cooler kit and when there here gonna send car back to WCP for remap, its more to make sure everytin is ok,if there is not electric fans on the rad, the solid one will be going back on.
got a class present from orla, the girlfriend which will help me enter PD, delighted!

Been a while, I got this bit wrong should have sorted out the cooiling end of things when engine was built but got oil cooler kit and Yashio Factory radiator. also the last few times out the oil was igniting from the heat cause there was a leak between turbo and oil return pipe. Bad job should nt of happened but getting these things sorted bit by bit.

Basically the last few times out the water temp was goin high so I have to bring it out again see if the yashio rad has solved this, if not gonna change the viscis and remap the car

Some might already know this but I thought it would be an open offset hose but they measure them opposite its a 60degree I need, sent wrong one back and proper is on the way.

right have few updates, today was good day in a long time, the oil leak round turbo has been fixed so no oil ignitin = flames. the water temp aint getting as hot as fast but it still makes its way to 100 so i eventually jus pull in at 95 so im gonna put on the fixd visous and get it re mapit to to suit the diff temps.

so got body spares for when it goes wrong Trial rear and sides thanks to Damodeane again :)

Well lads, right I know said the wheels would be back together about 2 weeks ago but this was the most tedious job in a long time. Could of bought new bolts on ebay but no.1 simply just dont have the money,120 bolts were costing from €80-120 and needed 140bolts in total so would of having to get 2lots. Wanted the originals because they were stamped BBS and no.2 going by pics on ebay couldnt be sure if they were original with the stamp. The coke trick only worked to a certain degree, so we had to go with plan B. So left them steeping for another day in something different and started the torture process, main thing is they came up lovely! hours upon hours later,sore hands and a melted head, let the photos do the talking :)

Can see few cleaned at the back and the manky ones at the front and their only mild compared to what they were like at start

Small update, got the front and side windows taken out yesterday so mocked up the front bumper, needed do this for bumper bar. Think it looks fairly ok for when get to that stage.

The car is away now for a wee bit of fab so il be organisin few bits for when its away decidin on colour for inside and havnt the stuff ready, paint it, fit windows then hope to do original rear arches and pull p/s rear quarter and d/s sill to get her straight ish haha

well all
busy out with this last few weeks! sanded the whole inside and cage that took alot of time, pulled the damage on driver sill which came out pretty gud.pity didnt get photo of the process, we used plate tack welded to sill,clamp onto the plate and used a real old pullin block chained to towbar of the jeep. big thanks to andrew for lookin after me with this and paintin.went ferguson grey on inside :) hav paint bumper bar and few bits tues prob go red or orange..fitted windows this mornin

Hello all, was busy last while gettin car ready for ennis. made it down anyway, the car is spot on!! Driving was poor, was first bit driving this yr so hopefully next day will be a small bit better and the balls drop a bit.

Hello all, started the rear arches durin the wk, we done them the J.Stone method (thanks for advice on this John :) ) took a good few pics to try give idea on the different steps.

first, marking it out, Jay done a savage neat job with a string line, for the 32 people we went up 60mm from the original lip to the centre point

used a grinder on the compressor for the cutting, tidy job! after we cut the top line and the shape of the arch on the bottom, this was left

next step.......hammer time, this was a bit by bit process tap the lower panel up to meet the other, weld it to get strenght in it, tap another inch or two up, weld it and so on

Normally you would hear the saying ud never be fin or you'd never be happy, well I am happy and the car has now got to were I wanted it (spec wise) years later it has been achieved. happy times
yes I would like to maybe some day paint it and fit the last 10pieces to the jig-saw :)
but I aint in a position to do it so I dont mind waiting on that,its waited a long time now so whats another yr or two :)

Small update on this car:

First of all wanna thank, Dan Moorehead, Wez WKD Imports and Gem for the help they gave in Punchestown, would of been totally screwed only for these lads. A general thanks to my girlfriend for the help & listentin to the crying :),my mates that helped in last few weeks, Jayo,Marko,Gilly etc Well appreciated.

Long story short, the frost cap fell out of the block on the Fri in practice and a little bit of inspiration from Dan,we loaded it up and worked late to fix that, theres always a BUT...the timing was put out and for love nor money could we get it back to were it was. Left it down with WCP recently to replace exhaust cam and get it back to normal. Another massive thanks to John @ WCP who went out of his way too, to help me with this! Everything seems ok and on low boost (1.1/1.2) = 450.
Even had a love tap to make the wkend that more special :)

This isnt much of update but im throwing it up so maybe others weekend wont be feiced up cause of it. Fermoy - broke down AGAIN!!! this time the clutch pedal fell apart on the first qualifying run and totally disintegrated at the starting line for the second run.
After talking to a few lads this is a real common problem, if I had of known before hand it would of been fixed before it caught me out.
Took out the pedal and hopefully now its indestructible!!

Have'nt got much time to update this recently have few pics too upload..if anything its only getting a bit repetitive, fixed the back passenger side & in the next outting, bang hit the driver side. Have hit the car more times this year than all the times over the years..
But its goin well which is priority & confidence is coming back bit by bit :)

Going to bring it to WKD for few suspension checks & adjustments. Also change the shoes on the front, havnt heard good reports about the Hankooks so their going.

The front JDL wings are not working with the Trial skirts so they need bit of modifying not too sure yet what is gonna happen but getting there

The front bumper, LORD!!!!!!!!!!! after thump in tullyroan had to mod the d/s wing cause when the bonnet was closed the wing was sitting under it! Then the headlight had to move, then the bumper had 1-2inch gap between the headlight & where the bumper flicks up

The car is now in BQ Autobody for a paint job. No point taking pics cause we'v been only stripping,sanding & cleaning in the last few days. well chuffed with the good feedback on our preperation on the car. Started to prime the shell lastnite but that seems to be the easy side to it cause of all the bits that have to be done.
Colour has been decided so wont be long till yous can see what it turns out like

Got the gasget sheet in the local motor factors, id say most would have. Dont know about different grades im sure there is, I just took what I was given & shes been bang on ever since, with the turbo glowing when in action. I couldnt imagine it been any special kind dude

last few bits are ready to spray the pics are building up nicely.reason their not goin up yet is because im doing this for Brians memorial day so this day week all will be revealed, it wont be fully fin till near then anyway.There is 1/2 small extra bits that were not expected at first thanks to Barry. massive thanks to him @ BQ Autobody for digging me out of a massive hole for doing this job in return of advertising BQ Autobody on the car :) thanks to the lads that threw a hand in that was much needed at times,Eric, Sean, Gary, Ronan & anyone that is involved
Also a big thanks to Shane Macken for doing a cool job on the stickers, much appreciated dude!!
one thing i did not do which i didnt expect, is stick with the Nissan AH3 red, i went with something different to spice it up.

Unfortunately a halfshaft broke & then another one, gave her a wee love tap on the day also so id say it will be sorted out over the next few weeks. Fair balls to Git for giving me halfshaft out of his 32 & Kev Kindergan for lending me his car(what a great guy!!!)cant thank them enough :)
Thinking of doing something with the bonnet & might have something lined up. il keep the updates & pics coming

Long time since iv been on this. Few updates and pics to sort out. Recently got the front end done by Ffrenchy and by jaysus she is ready for it now.
Have nismo style bonnet with nismo lip on route to wrap up the outside!
