well decided to sell the ssr minervas only, gonna put the kranze's on.

dont wanna spend a grand on gettin the right camber to pull the wheel under the arch, so looking at different options.

have always been a big fan of bolt on arches.

do ya have to cut into the current arches before boltin on wider ones?

i know kieran had these ones for sale:

my chaser has very flared arches as is, including some work on the rear door, so i dunno if i could even bolt on arches.

roll/flare the arch more so the wheels wont be hitting off it then slap on the jun arches

I have a picture of that spiriant chaser with the arch off and it's been cut. Well butchered more like lol I think it would be a shame to hide your arches because they have had so much work done. Are they filler or steel? Maybe they could be flared a little more to cover the tyre, your not that far off. You need about as much flare on yours to get the Kranze to fit as I did to get the grids to fit....

cheers for te replies lads, do yas actually think mine could be flared anymore though?

the door is flared into the arch, would that fook it up.

@copeyhagen

its hard to call, i reckon your arches are possibly a combination of both welding and filler, as that would the only way to make them look so perfect.

why would it cost a grand to get the camber right?? are arms that expensive???

yeh the arches are done well, theres a wedge been added into the bottom of the door to give it the angle.

another option could be to sell the kranze and try get something else with a low + offset, but i really like them.

only one company do camber arms, and theyre like a grand.

although tom or carpo or somone said they were testing out some jap ones a while ago, that they might be able to stock them.

also, had a tyre off one of my rezax and it looks like they have been welded. did you split them wheels you bought off dw nikki that were welded?

cheers

Well my arches had a little filler along the edge. Even though it didnt look it, it already had a fair amount of work done to the rear when I got it. Even still it went the extra half inch no bother at all. Looking at yours if you could flare the lip out that might do.

Rear arms should be no more than €500 euro for a set....

It would be a shame to sell them for something a little narrower...

thats jap "3 piece" wheels for you some are welded some arent:rolleyes: no never had them split, way too much work and may have ruined the wheel!

you could sell the wheels but then you would be back to square 1 looking for other wheels (which is a pain) and you would have no idea if they would fit either till you put them on! feckin wheels! im in the same boat again , making the equips fit and what not:rolleyes:

surely carpo could get you in second hand camber arms from japan???

You'd be mad to wreck the nice work that is already done on your arches. Camber arms do come up every now and then so keep an eye out and you'll pick up a set. Is there nobody in Ireland that could make up a set for you, and then sell more kits to other JZX owners?

your arches are savage lad i wouldn put bolt ons unless ya had no work done on them,

copeyhagen
09-12-10, 23:34
@ greg ya ill see if carpo ever sees second hand pairs, supposedly cusco do arms, and a few other companies too.

any ideas who could make em?!

@eric yeh your right, as savage as bolt ons look, theyre a last resort i think.

I spotted some last night on the Yahoo auctions but they were expensive enough.

Anybody who makes custom metal work shold be able to do it, wouldn't they? If you find somebody they can use my car as a test mule because it'll be back off the road again once I get the Hyundai going again.

sound greg, and does yours have camber arms on now yeh? were they on the car elaving japland?

i think its working out too expensive to get them to fit, with the price of the wheels, followed by the price of whatever archwork / camber is required.

maybe ill just sell them at a loss, keep the arches flared as is and get something with a low positive offset.

the ssrs that are on it now fit the arches perfect, and theyre 9.5 +18.

it looks like its either that or go with the bolt ons, IF i could even put the boltons with the arches / doors the way they are.

Arch work isnt very expensive at all!

Surely you can go wider than 9.5 +18?

copeyhagen
10-12-10, 13:30
it is expensive to work on these arches, and maybe to see very minor returns.

im sure i could rock up to 10 or 10.5 with maybe a 0 to +5 offset.

There's no aftermarket arms on mine at all. The only camber that is there is from the coilovers as low as they can go.

I've had 10.5j +30 on the back of mine and they had feck all poke and were hitting the coilovers going over bumps. The 10j Volks I had on with a 40mm spacer which made them -12 stuck out a good bit but your arches would cover them. :)
